Nokomis Florida, Buy a Home for Your Boat!

We are out in our boat 12 months a year and enjoy exploring all of the local areas from Tampa Bay to Charlotte Harbor. We have been out in the early mornings and late at night. The stars are wonderfully bright when you are on the water away from the city lights.

Nokomis Waterfront Real Estate

Nokomis has waterfront neighborhoods located on Shackett, Salt and Fox Creeks, Dona, Roberts, and Lyons Bays, along the shores Blackburn Bay and on Southern Casey Key. Nokomis Beach is at the southern end of Casey Key (near the Venice Inlet from the Gulf), and offers picnic areas, a boat launch, benches, beautiful benches for relaxing by the Gulf water.

There are also several beautiful parks in the Nokomis area, many of which include boat launch ramps. Humphris Park, also known as the South Jetty, is located just south of Nokomis at the northern end of Venice. The jetty provides a great fishing area and boat access between the Gulf of Mexico and the Intra-coastal Waterway.

Own a Beach and a Dock on the Bay

To the west of Nokomis is a unique barrier island - Casey Key. Many of these properties include beach-front with fine white sand, and bay-front with a boat dock. Casey Key properties start at one million for tear downs to seven million for a large compound estate with security. Casey Key is almost entirely residential. Homeowners here enjoy their privacy. Most of the road on Casey Key is public and winds around with tree canopies overhead and gulf views.

Great for Boats, One Bridge and 5 - 10 Minutes to the Gulf

The north bridge crosses from the mainland on Blackburn Point Road over the Intra-coastal. This is one of the few pivot bridges left in the United States. When a boat needs the bridge opened the bridge keeper actually comes out of their tower and goes to the center of the one lane bridge to operate the controls that pivot the bridge. The south bridge is on Albee Road. As we boat through this area we often see manatees. There is a dolphin that lives in this area of the Intra-coastal that visits each boat as they drive by. He comes up out of the water to greet boaters and will swim beside the boats as they idle through the bridge and manatee zones.
